I have been waiting for this story for what seems like forever. Toby and Raziel have been big players in this series since the beginning and the author has teased me with the promise of their HEA for too long. However, I have had this one in my possession for some time but have not been able to bring myself to read it. This is for several reasons. The first is that this is the final installment of a series I have loved since the prequel and I am not ready for it to end. The second reason is that I knew this would be an emotional story. Even the blurb itself brought forth a reaction from me. But I could not put this off any longer so I finally broke down and read it.

And I was so right. It was emotional. It was a bit hopeless at first, with poor Tobyy hidden away where the guardian could not sense him. Then it got a bit hopeful with “Raven” making an appearance and the author letting the reader know he was not what he seemed. Then I was happy when “Raven,” who actually turned out to be Rogan (Roman’s father and demi-god) gave Eydan what for and sent him to be eternally punished for his bad behavior. Then things turned to love and my heart soared because Raziel and Toby finally got to be together in real life, not just mentally. Oh I was so ecstatic that they could finally be together after so much suffering. And then came the fear and sadness as Toby did what I knew he would do. He sacrificed himself to save the world. But NO! He and Raziel just met and now Toby was being taken away again. Then there was restrained hope and admiration as the guardians banned together to try to save Toby. And holy s***! Raziel’s true angelic form is revealed and WOW just WOW.

Finally, amazement and happiness returned as Raziel and Toby were saved by Raziel’s father. I cried a bit here as Raziel’s father was so selfless in his love that he made the ultimate sacrifice to save his son and his son’s mate.

This final installment of the Preternatural Rescue Centre series wrapped up the series arc nicely and left things in a great place. I know this series will not be for everyone, but I have loved these men from the very beginning and am so sad to see them go. But while I am going to miss them all, the ending was satisfying and I am looking forward to more of Ms. Cross’s works.

Disappointing and of Questionable Reliability

I found the book disappointing and I question its reliability.
The following quote is taken directly from page 58 of "How the Bond Market Works", by Robert Zipf:
"However, the Tennessee Valley Authority frequently borrows money from the public. Its securities are not guaranteed by the United States Government, and are not generally exempt from state income taxes.
The following quote is taken directly from the "Tax Matters" section of bond offering circulars issued by the Tennessee Valley Authority.
"A U.S. beneficial owner is subject to federal income taxation on income on a Bond. The Act, however, provides that bonds issued by TVA are exempt both as to principal and interest from all taxation now or hereafter imposed by any state or local taxing authority except estate, inheritance and gift taxes."

Very Helpful

As a person studying for the Series 7 examination, this document was extremely helpful in understanding the test preparation material. Other people may say there are errors in the document, well, if that is true, then the test-prep books, and the test itself is wrong.
This is a good book people. It can tell you lots of things. Its only downside is that it needs more numerical examples and more mathematical examples to show the concepts behind yield to mature data.

A Solid Foundation - Not Too Dry

If you've read any number of books on investing, you know they can be tedious. But this book is relatively crisp and to the point. When the details of a subject are beyond the scope of a 200 page read, the book says so. If you are doing anything related to bond investing (even programming!) you should get started with this book.

Second, true to its title, Cardiology: Handbook for Clinicians provides quick reference to various topics yet covers each in a thorough manner. This makes it user friendly in our world of rapidly expanding knowledge and seemingly shrinking time. Third, the book is an appropriate reference for persons in various stages of learning, from the medical student to the practicing cardiologist a range of interest much desired by authors and publishers, but rarely achieved. The American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association guidelines for the management of different cardiac conditions have unequivocally improved outcomes and have an appropriately prominent place in Cardiology: Handbook for Clinicians. Electrocardiography also occupies a conspicuous position in the text by dint of its noninvasive, inexpensive, diagnostic capabilities that have made it arguably the most important portion of the cardiovascular boardexamination. Elias Hanna has an exceptional grasp of cardiovascular disease, and, with the editorial aid of two of his colleagues in the Section of Cardiology of the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, he has given us Cardiology: Handbook for Clinicians, packed with easy-to-understand diagnostic and therapeutic information. --D. Outstanding work

I recently read with pleasure Dr Hanna's manual. Being a cardiology fellow, I have used in the past other cardiology manuals but I find this one more helpful and much easier to read and learn practical ideas from. I am really impressed. Clinical chapters are very well organized and thoroughly address practical dilemmas, some of which are not well addressed in major textbooks! The information is clear, well outlined and well referenced. The chapters on ACS and ACS pharmacology, stable angina, heart failure, arrhythmias, pericardial diseases, peripheral arterial diseases, pulmonary hypertension and syncope are simply outstanding. The ECG and echocardiography chapters are certainly a big plus in comparison to other available cardiology manuals. ECG criteria are clearly interpreted and well illustrated with plenty of examples, with an excellent approach to the analysis and differential diagnosis of ischemia on ECG. Also, there are over 55 thoroughly interpreted ECG and arrhythmias tests. The echocardiography chapter is also well illustrated and addresses practical caveats in valvular disease evaluation. The hemodynamic and coronary intervention chapters are compact and high-yield.
I believe this book would help cardiology fellows, certainly the junior fellows but also the more senior fellows like me (it will serve as a useful review). It would also help medicine residents and interested medical students. I wish I read such a book in my residency.

Excellent handbook!!!

I have reviewed this handbook,written by Dr Hanna, and find it to be extremely helpful.I am currently in my first year of fellowship and realized that this handbook serves my purpose well. The chapters are well laid out and the illustrations are excellent. The author seems to have a thorough grasp of the subject and is update with the latest trials in the field of cardiology.
The first few chapters on Ischemic heart disease are worth reading,just like the rest of the book. The ECG,cardiac catheterization and echo chapters are well written and for a new cardiology fellow it is of immense help. I use this handbook on a day to day basis and it answers most ,if not all of my questions.Of course,it is not going to supplement Braunwalds or other bulky textbooks ,but it sure does serve the purpose well,on a busy ward/unit/clinic days for a quick review.
I would have no hesitation recommending this book to all cardiology fellows and medicine residents and even general practioners.Excellent handbook of cardiology!!!

It's about time

Let's be honest, fans of Deep Purple have wanted this book for ages, note for note transcriptions of all Purple's hits, and over the years Hal Leonard has given us a few of their songs such as Woman from Tokyo and Highway Star in their keyboard transcription series, but the only other place to find actual transcriptions of Purple's music was in the Deep Purple's Greatest Hits Full Band Transcriptions, where all the instruments are transcribed and the print is sort of small, yet the accuracy for the keyboard is variable since the book is mainly for guitar/bass tabs. Well we finally have the book we've been waiting for with accurate transcriptions and all in the right key, not to mention good variety. Hell I've been looking ages for keyboard transcriptions of songs like Hush and Perfect Strangers and now I finally have them. We get the classics from their early 70s albums such as Smoke on the Water and Highway Star, the fan favorite songs like Fireball and Child in Time (which is nothing less than epic), songs from their 80s revival like Knocking at Your Back Door and Perfect Strangers. Then we have some songs where Jon played keyboard outside of Deep Purple like Here I Go Again with Whitesnake and Rubber Monkey from a late 60s band he played session with. We don't get any of the garbage Deep Purple put out after the 80s, and the song selection on this is near perfect. There are a few missing such as Speed King, Black Night, and a personal favorite I would have liked to have seen Strange Kind of Woman, but then again the songs I did list don't really have as prominent organ. Now if only Hal Leonard could give us a Richard Right or Rick Wakeman version of this, every rock keyboardists dreams would be answered.

This is, however, one of the only textbooks I've owned that I've been able to read large portions of in a single sitting; I don't want to say it's like reading a novel, but it is as close as you're going to get with a textbook on rheology.

A good introductory text, 5-stars for chemical engineers

This is a good introductory textbook that is aimed at several possible audiences; chemical engineers, chemists, and engineers who deal with structural materials (metallurgists, mechanical engineers, civil engineers, and structural engineers in general). The book covers all aspects of polymeric materials - their chemistry, structure, synthesis, properties and processing. Being an introductory text only the basic ideas of these topics are covered, but there are adequate references to allow the reader to delve more deeply into any of these subjects. The book contains solved examples and unsolved homework problems. Being an introductory text, it is oriented to several possible audiences; so let me therefore consider the book from the perspective of these possible audiences.

1) Engineers interested in structural materials. As a metallurgist, I put myself into this category. Like most engineers in this category I have not been formally exposed to any organic chemistry, although I have had much more of a physical and inorganic chemistry than most structural engineers. I found that the lack of an organic chemistry background was is an impediment to getting the most from this book, but not an insurmountable one. I did not feel that there was enough background material in the part of the book on polymer fundamentals for me to understand all of the material that was presented, and I would have liked an appendix that provided the necessary organic chemistry fundamentals. However, this did not prevent me from getting a lot from the rest of the book. All in all, I liked this book and while I did not have enough of an organic chemistry background to understand all of it, I definitely had enough to learn a lot about:
a. Types of polymers, including their structures, synthesis, the determination of molecular weights and polymer solutions
b. Polymer melting and glass transition behavior
c. The thermodynamics of rubber elasticity
d. Rheology of polymers
e. Viscoelasticity and polymer deformation in general
I have a good background in chemical thermodynamics and physical chemistry so the sections on thermal transitions and solutions were no problem for me. Most engineers should have enough of a thermodynamics background to handle the use of the thermodynamics approach to rubber elasticity, but the solutions section will likely be difficult for them. On the plus side, they should be very familiar with the deformation concepts discussed in the book (including tension, creep, stress relaxation and dynamical testing), so the sections applying these concepts to polymers should be very helpful to them - they were for me. Overall, for myself and for this group in general I would give the book a solid 4-stars.

2. Chemists - They should have no problems with the chemistry and structures of polymers. Likewise, with those sections that bear heavily on thermodynamics. However, the sections on rheology and mechanical properties may be challenging. A background appendix would have been helpful for these readers. I would also rate the book 4-stars for this group.

3. Chemical Engineers. The authors of the book are both chemical engineers, so it is not surprising that the book is best suited for this group. They should have all of the necessary background and the book appears to be tailored for them, so I would rate the book 5-stars for this group. It appears to be an excellent chemical engineering text. I am only using the word appears because I am not a chemical engineer and do not therefore have the proper background to make a definitive statement about this.

The book definitely improved my understanding of this class of materials and I recommend it with the proviso that those without a sufficient organic chemistry may not get as much from is as they could have had they had this knowledge. Likewise, a chemist will likely lack all the required background in deformation that would allow them to get the most from the areas of the book that deal with this subject. The book is probably best for chemical engineers.

A great way to get started with Polymeric materials~

This text seems to be geared towards chemical engineering students, especially those in upper level courses or specific graduate programs, or novices to the field specific to polymers. The information is well presented and within grasp for those with a decent background in inorganic chemistry. Those with specific interests in the solid/liquid state polymers will find some refreshing new insight into this realm. Liquid crystal polymers are well explained as well.

Much of the text involves upper level chemistry principles and physics principles, so it might be over the head of those without the necessary background, but it is written in a way that even if one doesn't quite grasp a particular concept (such as Flory-Huggins theory to site an example - nightmares from chemistry 2310 resurfacing!). Having a good grasp of upper level chemistry I was able to skim through the text and was quite pleased with the content as well as the layout. As always, Wiley has put a rather nice "See Inside' feature together for the Amazon listing.
